Coleg Ceredigion staff and students have made history following their contribution to a worldwide Guinness World Record attempt as part of The Big Dance event on Friday 18th May. As part of the Cultural Olympiad, 50 participants from across the college, including Principal Jacqui Weatherburn, took part in the attempt to secure the largest number of dancers performing synchronised choreography across the world at the same time, 1pm on Friday 18th May. The performance coincided with the arrival of the Olympic Torch to the UK, and was synchronized with other dancers from across the world.
Students and staff have been working hard over the past few weeks learning and perfecting the choreography under the expert guidance of Dance Tutor and Event Co-ordinator, Solveig Frykman-Lloyd.
Jacqui Weatherburn, Principal at Coleg Ceredigion, commented “I feel privileged to have taken part in this international movement. We are all extremely grateful to Solveig for coordinating Coleg Ceredigion’s contribution to the Guinness World Record”.
