Staff, students and volunteers recently donated their time, skills and expertise to build a replica helicopter at Coleg Ceredigion, which was used to raise over £7,000 for the Wales Air Ambulance.
‘Push for Life’ saw volunteers from across Ceredigion come together to push the replica helicopter a total of 40 miles, from Aberystwyth to Cardigan over a two day period, raising a total of £5431.72 by the end of the journey. The helicopter was constructed and painted at Coleg Ceredigion’s Cardigan Campus, and was built using materials donated by local businesses in Ceredigion.
Ann Evans, Volunteer Fundraiser for the Cardigan area commented “The event was very successful, and we are very pleased with the outcome. The funds will be used to update the equipment in the Air Ambulance in Welshpool. Congratulations to everyone who took part in this valiant effort!”
The helicopter can be seen at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show, as well as at the Coleg Ceredigion stand at the Cardigan Show on Wednesday 1st August this year.
