What will I be studying?
The module introduces the main principles and methods of learning and involves the student in applying these to the planning and delivery of microteaching. The module lays a foundation of teaching skills by providing a broad introduction to the factors that bring about successful learning in the lifelong learning sector, concentrating on the role of the tutor. It is designed as a self contained introduction which may be also be delivered as a stand alone introductory module to participants who may then transfer to the full programme.

What can I do whent I have successfully completed the programme?
Preparing to Teach is the first module of our Professional Graduate Certificate in Education or Certificate in Education programme. On completion of this module, and if you are able to obtain teaching practice in an approved environment (eg FE, adult education, voluntary sector or publicly funded training provider), and subject to an enhanced CRB check, you can progress onto the Certificate or Professional Graduate in Education course.
