Award Ceremonies recognise students’ achievements

It was celebration time at Coleg Ceredigion once again recently as the college celebrated the achievements of its learners at its two annual awards ceremonies.

The events held at the Aberystwyth Campus’ Performing Arts Studio and Cardigan Campus’ Y Man a’r Lle were attended by the Mayor of Aberystwyth, Cllr Steve Jones , and Mayor of Cardigan, Cllr Richard Jones respectively along with staff, family and friends, governors, councillors and local employers.

A total of 54 awards were presented this year across both campuses by the Chair of Governors, Maria Stedman. During her address, Maria Stedman highlighted the college’s various activities and successes over the past year including success at the Urdd National Eisteddfod, the opening of Welsh Language Centre “Y Man a’r Lle” and developments to the facilities at both campuses including new state of the art equipment. She congratulated all student on their achievements.

Coleg Ceredigion’s new Principal, Barry Liles, commented: “This year’s Award Ceremonies have once again shown that learners are fulfilling their full potential at Coleg Ceredigion. Our Ceremonies in Aberystwyth and Cardigan celebrated some huge successes. It was truly heart-warming to see the learners receive their awards, and to hear the citations prepared by their Tutors shared with the audience of family, friends and local dignitaries. A wonderful evening on both campuses.”

The ceremonies were followed by a sumptuous buffet expertly prepared and served by the Catering students and staff at both campuses.
