Governance & Management

In August 2017, Coleg Ceredigion became a wholly owned subsidiary of Coleg Sir Gâr.

Coleg Sir Gâr became a structural partner of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) in August 2013, and is a registered company limited by guarantee.  Its objective is to provide, for the public benefit, further, higher and secondary education as defined in section 18(1) of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992.

The College and its Board of Directors is committed to adhering to Nolan’s Seven Principles of Public Life, and demonstrating best practice in all aspects of corporate governance, set out in the Code of Good Governance for Colleges in Wales.  It is responsible for approving the strategic plans for the College and for governing and regulating its finances, accounts, investments, property, business and affairs. Its primary responsibilities are set out in the College’s Articles of Association.

The Board of Directors bring independent judgement to issues of strategy, performance, resources and standards of conduct. It recognises that, as a body entrusted with both public and private funds, it has a particular duty to observe the highest standards of corporate governance at all times.
