Mental Health Awareness

Course cost: £10

Programme Description

Many people find that mental health and mental illness are not easy topics to talk about, even with family, friends and colleagues. Living with poor mental health is awful and it can feel as though you are not able to reach out for help and support. Now is the time to raise awareness and make changes to how we think about mental health. We need to address the culture we create in the workplace and provide the right support for people living with mental ill health.

Topics covered in this course include understanding mental health and mental illness, what can affect mental health, depression, anxiety, stress. Facing the stigma, what is wellbeing, wellbeing in the workplace and emotional wellbeing.

This one hour, easy to follow course with interactive exercises explores the impact of living with mental health challenges and how to recognise it in ourselves, our colleagues and how to react and ask for help. An informal quiz can be taken at the end of the session to confirm learning and a Coleg Sir Gar certificate awarded on completion.
