Programme Description

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training course has been developed for anyone who currently works in Project Management. Lean Six Sigma offers the best of both the Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, helping to standardise work, eliminate waste and defects, improve customer satisfaction, and help the business become more profitable.

Topics covered in this course include Lean Six Sigma fundamentals, the seven wastes, cost of poor quality, problem definition, business case, project discovery and measurement system analysis. Inferential statistics, correlation and regression analysis, Lean tools for improvement, control charts and design of experiments (DoE) to name a few.

With an exam at the end to test the learner's understanding of the material covered. Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to understand problem-solving and process improvement methods, and plan and manage a real Lean Six Sigma DMAIC project. Identify the elements of cost of poor quality and waste in a process, structure a measurement system and identify the appropriate metrics to support quantitative process improvement efforts. Understand root cause analysis and value analysis methods, communicate with key stakeholders and drive change in the organisation and use many of the common process improvement tools.

Who is it for?

This Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course is ideal for individuals looking to improve quality and processes within an organisation and those who currently undertake project management roles.

Entry Requirements

The focus of this course is the application of Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methods to real-life improvement projects within the learner's organisation. There are two possible entry points to this course:

No previous training - this course fully caters for those wishing to go straight to Green Belt level. All the course materials taught at the Yellow Belt level are included in this Green Belt training course.

Previous Yellow Belt training - the Green Belt course covers all the material taught on the Yellow Belt course, serving as a refresher and then building on the Yellow Belt knowledge.

Progression

Successfully completing this course enables learners to apply for a range of available jobs including lean/continuous improvement engineer (manufacturing), quality and CI engineer, product manager and quality manager. Learners could also progress onto the Black Bet course providing them with higher-paying senior job roles.
