Student Transport 2023 - 2024

New and returning students must apply for transport every year, there is no carry forward. Applying for a college bus pass is done during enrolment, there is no separate application form.  If you haven't been contacted about enrolment, please email admissions@ceredigion.ac.uk to check on the status of your course application.

If you are a full-time further education student or applicant, you can apply for transport through your Prospect college account at https://apply.ceredigion.ac.uk/

Please email queries to admissions@ceredigion.ac.uk

Free transport is provided along key routes to students whose weekly timetables are 16 hours or above.  If you live outside Ceredigion or Carmarthenshire you may be required to pay a £100 contribution towards the cost of the bus pass.

When can I use my bus pass?

Bus passes may only be used on the services indicated on your bus pass, up until 9.00am in the mornings and between 4.00pm – 6.00pm in the afternoons.

What if I don’t live near a pick-up point?

If you are aged between 16 and 18 on the 1st of September and live in Ceredigion, but more than 1.5 miles from the nearest bus pick-up point, you may be eligible for a taxi.  You will have the opportunity to apply for this at the same time as your bus pass.

Please note: A taxi will only be provided if at least two students will be travelling from the same area. The Local Authority will confirm your eligibility for a taxi, and if taxi can’t be provided and you make your own arrangements to meet the bus then you may be able to claim back the petrol costs from the Local Authority.

Additional Needs Transport - students between 16-18 years

Learners with medical conditions, disabilities or learning difficulties may be eligible for a taxi or bus provision, subject to relevant supporting evidence. These applications are considered on an individual basis.

The contact for the Local Authority to discuss any of the above is:
