FE Foundation Diploma

Programme Description

This programme is suitable for learners who have not yet achieved accredited qualifications as well as those returning to study. The Diploma offers learners the opportunity to develop and apply functional skills and is designed to build on existing skills as well as develop new ones. Improving literacy and numeracy skills is a critical element of the programme. Confidence building and raising self-esteem is also an important feature.

Progression & Employment

Programme Assessment

All units are internally assessed – Each unit within the qualification has specified assessment criteria which must be used. To achieve a ‘pass’ the learner must satisfy all assessment criteria. A central feature of vocational assessments is that it enables the assessment to be: 

  • Current, to reflect recent developments, issues and topics 
  • Flexible, to reflect learner needs 

Programme Entry Requirements

No prior accredited qualifications required. Entry is dependent on a selection interview.
