Coleg Ceredigion provides Ambassador Scholarships annually for Further Education students starting a Level 3 course for the first time.
Applicants should preferably have contributed to community life in school and be proven achievers. Successful applicants must be confident and competent communicators and should be willing to contribute in a supportive capacity at a variety of College events throughout the year December 2023 - December 2024. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your leadership and communication skills. Whilst you will be supporting College life, the College is able to provide you with an opportunity to participate in a programme that will undoubtedly prove advantageous when submitting University and employment applications.
New course first year Ambassador students receive an allocation of Ambassador clothing together with financial assistance (£100 paid in two instalments December 2023 and July 2024). This can contribute to College costs such as books, travel, accommodation, equipment etc.
New Course First Year Ambassador Students are accountable to:
Campus Directors,
Faculty Managers,
designated members of the Faculty Management Teams,
Christy Anson-Harries, Director of Recruitment, Progression and Partnerships and
Mandy Wyrwoll, Marketing Manager.
Students are appointed for one year December 2023 to December 2024 - NB: Foundation Art students for 6 months December 2023 to July 2024. Students interested in undertaking the role will be required to submit a brief application in September 2023 and if successful to attend a short interview in October 2023.
Applications should be submitted to your base campus office before 4pm on Friday, 27th October 2023 for the attention of Christy Anson-Harries, Director of Recruitment, Progression and Partnerships.
In considering applications all relevant selection criteria will be taken into account. Selection is made on the basis of information provided within the Ambassador Scholarship application form with the final decision made at interview / audition by an Ambassador Scholarship Awards Panel in October 2023.
Applicants will be contacted by email as soon as possible in November after all interviews have been completed. The Awards Panel reserves the right to amend any decision made.

NB: The provisional Calendar of Events for 2023/2024 will be provided to all applicants.
Great care is taken to ensure that each Ambassador only contributes in part to the college/campus programme of events ensuring that the Ambassador role does not interfere with programmes of study at the College.
APPOINTMENT OF SECOND YEAR FURTHER EDUCATION FACULTY STUDENT AMBASSADORS
Vacancies also exist at the end of the academic year 23/24 enabling 1styear FE students who have not been engaged as new course 1styear Ambassador Students to become Faculty Student Ambassadors during their 2ndyear of study 2023 - 2024 ie. 6 per Faculty.
Students completing their 1styear course who have excelled during the year will be invited by Faculty Management Teams to become 2ndYear Ambassadors for 1 year between June 2023 and June 2024.
2ndYear Ambassador students whilst not receiving a financial reward will receive complementary Ambassador clothing. Successful students will be able to refer to their Faculty Ambassador roles when submitting applications for Higher Education and employment.
2ndYear Ambassador Students are accountable to:
Faculty Managers and / or designated members of the Faculty Management Team.
Assist at Open Evenings, Prize days and any other noteable occasions or events within the Faculty calendar
Assist in meeting and looking after Faculty area guests eg. student interviews, Enrolment Days, Parent Evenings, School Taster Days, Guest Speakers, Employer visits, Consultative Committees, Partnership Events, More Able and Talented Sessions
Assist Faculty staff in delivering presentations at promotional events
