Very few students manage to get through their studies without needing some additional support or advice. Often, these can be given by the course tutors but during the duration of a course most will need to seek that specialist advice or support on an issue that may not be directly course related. That is what we are here for.
Across all campuses we have friendly approachable staff in the Learner Support team carrying out different roles, we will make sure that you are put in touch with the right person to help you if we can’t do it ourselves, sometimes that might involve an external agency who we will already have excellent links with. You can make an appointment or drop-in and see us at any time.
We want our learners to feel safe in an environment where everybody respects each other. If any of our learners feel unsafe, being bullied, or are generally being made to feel uncomfortable, we want to hear from them or any persons with knowledge of the problem so that it can be dealt with immediately.
Our commitment is to support our learners to enable them to complete their course successfully, having reached their full potential along the way. This might only require a one-off five minute conversation with a Student Liaison Administrator or Student Welfare Office about finance or regular, more intense weekly or monthly appointments with a college Counsellor, Mentor or Learning Support lecturer.
Whatever support or advice you need, regardless of how small or big the issue, as serious or trivial you consider it to be, it is highly likely that we have already come across it before, so we encourage you to come and have a chat with us.
