An eye for business
While some students are uncertain of their progression route, the same cannot be said about Alaw Lois Evans who’s always had an eye on a career in the business industry.
Living on the family farm which houses 15 holiday cottages, Alaw has been aiding the family business since she can remember.
Deciding to study business at level three at the Aberystwyth campus was therefore a natural choice for her as she wanted to broaden her knowledge of the industry.
Alaw has specified that she’s enjoyed the more hands on aspects of the course, which included organising and running a pop-up clothes shop, with all the proceeds going to HAHAV.
Looking into the future, Alaw has received an unconditional offer to study hotel and hospitality management at the University of South Wales’ Newport campus.
Always keen on the more practical element of business, Alaw is exited that as part of the course she will be spending two days a week at the Celtic Manor, giving her an opportunity to practise fundamental elements needed to run a successful establishment such as food and beverage and being front of house.
Her long-term goal is to do some travelling before gaining employment in the industry.
