Library’s click and collect service is a big hit
The Click and Collect service provided by Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Ceredigion campus libraries is proving to be very popular.
To keep staff and students safe browsing library shelves isn’t possible at the moment but the library service are keen to ensure that everyone has the books they need.
The Click and Collect service offers library users the ability to reserve the items they want online and then receive a call from the library when they are ready.
Books are provided wrapped in a parcel which is picked up from the ‘Click and Collect’ table and when they are returned library staff put them into quarantine for 72 hours before being re-shelved.
Reading resources provide an essential study element to complete qualifications including degree level courses. Many of these courses are part-time and fit around the busy lives of mature students and therefore this service has provided an additional time-saving benefit for them.
College librarian Liz Chester said: “We have some great online resources but it’s important to us that students can still have safe access to our print books to support their studies too.”
