Students collaborate with museum

Coleg Ceredigion’s furniture students recently visited Ceredigion Museum as part of a collaboration project.

During the visit to the museum’s home in Aberystwyth, the department helped to identify old woodworking tools stored in their archives.

The museum is currently reviewing some of their collections and the furniture department advised them about suitable display items and the facts behind each item.

Students also had an opportunity to view the museum’s furniture exhibits.

According to furniture lecturer Chloe Reynolds: “The recent visit to Ceredigion Museum was a great experience for the students as it gave them a valuable insight into the different tools used over the years.

“It was also interesting also to see how some tools have developed with time.  We are grateful to Ceredigion Museum for the opportunity to collaborate which will certainly benefit our students.”
