Working as a mechanic in the field of electric and hybrid vehicles requires specialised knowledge and skills due to the unique technology and components involved.
This course is a one day, EAL accredited level 3 award which covers the requirements for the installation of electric vehicle charging (EAL 603/3929/9). It follows the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation & BS 7671.
The course will cover the requirements of BS7671 with regards to the new section on electrical vehicle charging points, discussing how the electrical supply can be delivered from both private and public supplies. By the end of the course you will understand how to install these points in compliance with BS7671.
As well as gaining EAL accreditation, you will also become familiar with Rolec equipment, Britain’s leading electric vehicle charging point manufacturer, and obtain a Rolec certificate.
Who is it for?
All candidates must have passed the 18th Edition requirements for Electrical Installations (Regulations). Copies of certificates must be provided.
Practically, candidates must be able to install and terminate SWA cable and carry out an initial verification on an electrical installation and complete all of the associated paperwork.
