A career in accountancy and finance offers a wide range of opportunities in various industries and sectors. Accountants and finance professionals play a crucial role in managing financial information, analysing data, and providing strategic guidance to organisations.

This course is an ideal starting point for anyone wishing to pursue a career in accountancy or finance. The purpose of the course is to offer grounding in the core accounting knowledge and skills needed to progress either to employment or to further study.

This qualification is suitable for young people who have just left school as well as for adults returning to work after a break or for anyone wishing to change career. The course is open to those who are working and those who are not currently in employment. This qualification could also help someone who is already working in an entry-level finance role to progress in their career by offering them development and formal recognition of their skills.

Programme Features

A student completing this qualification will develop skills in double-entry bookkeeping and will understand how to use journals, control accounts and a trial balance. Students will also learn how to use accounting software, how to process financial information in accordance with company procedures and schedules, and how to provide information to colleagues, suppliers and/or customers as required.

The AAT will require all students to register with the Professional Body. Restrictions to membership may apply. More information is available at www.aat.org.uk.
