If you like creating creative content as a use for artistic expression and communication to engage audiences then this course is a step on the ladder to using digital media, film and video and animation.
This level three creative media course is designed to equip you with a range of high-level creative, practical and academic skills using industry-standard software and it can be used to progress to university.
With a practical focus and within a department with fantastic resources, students study and make films (fiction, documentary and music videos), animations, graphics, advertising campaigns, and photography portfolios. This University of the Arts London (UAL) Awarding Body course is underpinned with an understanding of the media industry, close analysis of media content, as well as responding to professional briefs.
We have a dedicated studio for filming and photography, high definition professional cameras, tripods, tracks, microphones, boom poles and lights which, once trained, students can borrow to make films and three dedicated editing suites with Apple Macs (one for every student on the course) and the latest professional software, including the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro and so on) for editing and graphics.
There is a real focus on providing professional expectations and standards, including ambitious final projects (in whatever medium the student chooses) at the end of each year, and realistic work experience through professional client briefs, collaborative project work with local employers and cross curriculum activity.
Student work is of a very high standard and we have had numerous successes in film festivals such as Zoom and Ffresh.
